The Fellowship - details
- The dates are June 8 - August 3rd, 2009.
- The Beatitudes Society sponsors Fellows to work as interns at selected social change organizations. Selected Fellows will develop a Work Contract with their site during spring semester.
- In addition to internship work, all Fellows will attend weekly group sessions with their local (DC, Chicago, or San Fran area) mentor, following a curriculum exploring the links between social change advocacy and progressive Christianity. Mentorship sessions will also provide a place for sharing concerns, reflection and synthesis of the internship work experience.
- Fellows will participate in Auburn Media Training Workshops, which offer a tailored training program to prepare religious leaders and laypeople for communicating effectively with the media.
- Fellows will participate in a retreat at the Fetzer Institute in Kalamazoo, MI at the end of the Fellowship.
- Fellows will be asked to participate in occasional conference calls with Beatitudes Society Staff, blog on our website, and provide an end-of-summer reflection and evaluation.
